Backup configuration for exclude masks

Post by isstjjh »

I am new to VEB so this may have been answered already. I am using version 1.5.0.306. When I configure the exclude masks for what I want backed up, I put *.exe, *.msi, *.iso, however, the size of the backup objects does not change as displayed through the Configure Backup wizard even when a refresh is done. The masks are applied correctly when I look to restore from backup. Is the total size meant to not change with the masks or is that a bug?

Hi isstjjh,

Unfortunately, it’s by design. When a file mask is used VEB knows nothing about the files included into backup until the actual job run, thus cannot estimate the size.

Thank you for the update. It would be beneficial to have a note about that behavior.

Thanks again
