VMS hanging at 99 percent

We had an issue with a client where two of their VMs would hang at 99 percent. The jobs would not finish. The backups would "hang" on processing. The jobs were getting an 'Hot disk add" error message This went on for a week. We tried multiple troubleshooting measures to no avail. We called Veeam technical support. The Veeam technician had us disable "automount" on the proxy server. He also had us scrub the automount entries. This solved the issue. Backups have been successful.
