Question about REIP and Failback and Failover behavior

Post by davidb1234 »

I understand that REIP will change the IP of a VM replica when a failover is performed. My question is if a Fail BACK is performed will it reconfigure the new IP back to the old IP on the original VM? I noticed when reIP rules are configured there is no fields for gateway/DNS on the source settings so I am wondering how Veeam knows how to REIP the VM back to original IP.

David, if you perform failback to original location, IP address is changed back to the pre-failover state.
