Backup Performance data collection failure (E_Accessdenied)

Post by edvschriesheim »

Hello,

last week we switched the Veeam One Database from a local SQL Express to our Full SQL Server, according to the KB Entry.
During the Weekend Veeam One was running fine without Errors.

Since yesterday we've 9 Configuration Issues:
Fired by event: VeeamBpPerfCollectionFailedEvent
Event description: Failed to collect performance data for object B1SHBA-BACKUP.B1SHBA.INTERN. Die COM-Klassenfactory für die Komponente mit CLSID {6727052E-6FA8-4F80-8CB8-72DD89D4D5CC} konnte aufgrund des folgenden Fehlers nicht abgerufen werden: 80070005 Zugriff verweigert (Ausnahme von HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)). This is the last record for this event. All other entries will be suppressed according to error reporting policy.
Initiated by: Veeam ONE Monitor (xxxxxx)

All of the 9 objects have the same error. Remote Registry is enabled and WMI is running. From the Veeam One Server i can access the performance Couter of the Backup Server and the Backup Proxy when using perfmon. Also i can access the Remote Registry.

Veeam One, Veeam B&R and Veeam Enterprise Manager. All Services using the same Domain Account. The Account has local Admin Permission on the Veeam One Server and the Veeam B&R Server (with Enterprise Manager installed).

Hello,
The issue is pretty generic and can be caused by different reasons.
What build number of Veeam ONE and VBR are you at?
Thanks!

Problem solved. SQL Server didn't accept the authentification. We changed from Windows Authentification only to SQL User and Windows Authentification.
That disturbed the connection between veeam one and SQL Server. A Restart of the sql service solved the problem.

Maybe it's an idea to generate an additional error to inform the user/admin that the sql connection has errors.
The Description of the VeeamBpPerfCollectionFailedEvent let you focus on the Backup Server Infrastructure and not the sql :)
