Import endpoint and continue sync

Post by Ultra_Cool »

Hello,
We want to use endpoind backup to create image backup on laptops. When you taking backup for the first time the image file is very large and because of that we need to export it to external usb and import it to veeam server. Now is it possible to import it and contine to sync with laptop and get only changes?

Hi Ultra_Cool,

Yes, this issue was fixed. Should be working in VEB 1.5 pointed to v9 Update 1 (I believe Update 1 is not required but better install it anyway).

You are welcome.

P.S. Keep the backup folders where VEB backups reside or create a new ones in the repository with the name given by VEB job (i.e. F:\VeeamBackup\Backup Job MachineName). It names the folder with machine host name and use this path in job settings.

Thank you for tips. That what I will do is to run backup and save it on external drive. After that I will import it to veeam and continue sync to get only changes. I should be able to change job settings and point to different location with the same backup job name, right?

Sure. Just move the backup folder with it's content to the repository and hit rescan, then point VEB job to this repository. Next VEB job run should locate and continue the existing chain.
