Veeam v9 Backup Repository Linux Server - shutdown
Hi all,
i tried to add a Unix Server with attached NFS to veeam v9.
If i add the Server and click populate everything will work fine.
But if i try to scan the Repository the Linux Maschine shut down after a few secounds.
After powering on and check the command history a few stuff is done with a "veeam" tar Archiv and the last command is a "shutdown".
If i dont scan the repository the shutdown is not triggered.
This happens every time i rescan the repo. Is someone facing the same Problems
(sorry for my bad english)
Best regards
Michael Weber

Michael, please contact technical support with this, we'd definitely like to take a closer look at what happens. Though I don't believe the 'shutdown' command is implicitly called by any of Veeam B&R components.

Also could you tell what distro are you using as a repo please? Is it a fresh installation?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Prior to conducting tests please check sys.reqs:at the Moment i am using a bananapi with Debian

CPU: x86 processor (x86-64 recommended).
Memory: 4 GB RAM, plus up to 2 GB RAM (32-bit OS) or up to 4 GB RAM (64-bit OS) for each concurrent job depending on backup chain’s length and backup files sizes.
Network: 1 Gbps or faster for on-site backup and replication, and 1 Mbps or faster for off-site backup and replication. High latency and reasonably unstable WAN links are supported.
Looking forward to hear from you about test results!Linux. SSH and Perl required (please check the full list of required Perl modules here: http://www.veeam.com/kb2007).
64-bit edition of Linux must be able to run 32-bit programs. Pure 64-bit Linux editions are not supported.
Thank you.

Re: Veeam v9 Backup Repository Linux Server - shutdown
Hi,
I have found this thread about shutdown of debian (8.2) linux repository. I want to switch from windows repository to linux and experiencing shutdown:
EDIT: It seems to be solved. My /tmp was mounted with 'noexec' and that was probably reason why veeam was running shutdown!

Re: Veeam v9 Backup Repository Linux Server - shutdown
Hi,
Does it happen regularly? Is there anything suspicious in /var/log/syslog? I'd also check CPU temperature because unexpected shutdown might occur due to an overheating.
Thank you.

Re: Veeam v9 Backup Repository Linux Server - shutdown
i had some Troubles regarding v9 and my backup Setup. So i switched back to v8.
As my Unix System if not supported because Hardware is to low (PI, Debian) is did not investigate more time and used my old Scenario.
If some ppl want to investigate more time, even if this is not official supported, we can perform some test.
The temperature was not too high.
First of all i will check the hint provided by iwik:
