PST exports
Does anyone know of a way to use PowerShell to export PST’s from Exchange backups?
Get-VBRApplicationRestorePoint returns the restore points that are available for Exchange backups but I have not been able to find any related commands that would allow me to export a particular user’s mailbox to a PST.
I’m trying to automate these type of restores for our E-Discovery team.

Re: PST exports
You're not missing something, as VEX functionality is not currently covered by PowerShell cmdlets. Thanks.

Re: PST exports
Yep, you've already done it by posting on these forums. If we were to implement it, would be Exchange item-level restore functionality that's currently available in Enterprise Manager enough for you in case of PowerShell? Thanks.

Re: PST exports
I agree with the_mentor
I need to be able to export PST's, I'm not looking to restore back to production.
My main reason for this is for our E-Discovery team that is collecting PST's. If I could to this with PS, they wouldn't even need access to the console. We could build a fully automated process

Re: PST exports
Thank you, David, for the feedback. Based on the demand for this functionality, we'll think what can be done in this regard in one of the next product versions. Thanks.

Re: PST exports
It's unlikely that the said script can be created since functionality of the Veeam Explorer for MS Exchange is not scriptable via PowerShell at the moment. Thanks.

Re: PST exports
Maybe an old work around (for now) would be to start the Exchange server in a virtual lab and then use native exchange powershell to export certain mailboxes (although granularity seems difficult)

Re: PST exports
Hi,
As Exchange Provider, we are really interested to automate PST restoring from a restore point. We got several requests for that (20+ by week) but cannot handle them (too many hand operations).
We hope this feature will be released soon.

Re: PST exports
Did you got the chance to implement/schedule this feature? Or do you have some idea to create a fully automated process to generate a pst?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: PST exports
It's still planned, though, no ETA at the moment. As to workarounds, you can try the one coined by Timothy. Thanks.

Re: PST exports
I am in a similar situation and need the ability to fully script exporting .edb files to .pst from Veeam backups. I am running 9.5 and I am having a hard time tracking down commandlets relating to the Veeam Explorer for Exchange. Did PowerShell commandlets for Veeam Explorer for Exchange ever get added in recent versions of Veeam? If so where could we find documentation?

Re: PST exports
Those cmdlets are planned to be added in Update 4; stay tuned. Thanks.

Re: PST exports
Thanks for the update, that said I just started the last set of batches of restores out of 50 batches and wish I had the commandlets on hand to automate that step of the process.
Not the end of the world but just wanted to say there was at least one other person who is requesting this feature be added.
