License file compatibility

Post by pkelly_sts »

We've been juggling & consolidating our B&R environment, removing an Enterprise Manager instance from a site we no longer have as well as decomming a pair of ESXi hosts although we've kept the licenses (Vmware & Veeam) for future use.

We're still on v8, now starting to plan migration to v9 but our currently applied license has expired so need to apply the new key. however, I did this at our other remaining site & I swear I added a v9 key to a v8 install, but on this site it won't let me. Am I imagining things??

We will likely be re-deploying a new enterprise manager just to make the licensing management easier if nothing else but aren't quite ready to do it yet until we make some final decisions on our v9 deployment (i.e. single B&R server managing both sites or a B&R server per site)...

I'm pretty sure I deployed the v9 license to v8 install... :-/

Hello Paul,
v9 license should not work with VBRv8 so you are probably mistaken.
Feel free to contact your sales rep. for the license update/combining/expansion.

You are welcome.
There is also a small probability of the software bug. In a case you reproduce the behavior, let us know.
Thanks!
