Veeam Job causing vCenter DB - Restore - License Issue

Post by rizks_2000 »

Not sure if I have a Veeam issue or a VMWare vCenter issue, but I have an issue. Am getting the following error when Veeam jobs run, and this happens about every 36 hours. I tend to think I have some sort of VMWare licensing issue, but want someone else's opinion.

Details
Checking "nsfcu-vmware3.nsfcu.local" host license level Failed to login to "172.22.92.20" by SOAP, port 443, user "nsfcu\edge$$", proxy srv: port:0 Unable to connect to the remote server No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 172.22.95.20:443

When this happens (with a Veeam job), my VCenter Client fails, shuts down. I can then not relaunch it. To resolve these issues, I must go into my my vCenter DB and perform a restore of my vCenter DB to the day before. Do I have some sort of licensing issue with VMWare or is Veeam causing this problem? Sure could use someone's help on this one. I'll be submitting a case with VMWare support as well but thought I would get a quicker response out here in case anyone else has seen this. The odd thing about this is though, if I don't run Veeam jobs for two weeks, I don't have this issue. If I run Veeam jobs every day as I normally do, I have to go through this vCenter restore process every three days, which tells me this is a license issue somehow.

Hello Anthony,

I doubt that this could be related to a licensing issue, however just to be sure I would recommend you to send us the corresponding job log, so our technical team could investigate it and point you out the exact time and reason for the job failure.

This information would also be useful to VMware's support for further troubleshooting.

Thanks!

Can you refresh my memory as to the path of the job logs?

Yes, you will find all the logs needed if you browse to Help->Support Information in the backup console.

Just send it through the Veeam support portal then? I've got the log ready.

That's right, or you may email to support@veeam.com directly.

Vitaliy,
Do we have a resolution for this issue? I have a customer who has encountered a similar issue.
Details
Checking "192.168.5.21" host license level
Failed to login to "192.168.5.21" by SOAP, port 443, user "root", proxy srv: port:0
The operation has timed out
Would like to share the fix to them.

Hi Neal, I cannot update you with the resolution, since OP hasn't posted his ticket number, so our support team is your best bet here.
