Archiving Files to Tape

Post by AdamWay »

I'm looking to try and backup files from a basic NAS to tape with Veeam v9

Maybe a simple one but I feel I'm missing a simple step.

On this page,
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/vsp ... _tape.html

It says that "You can also archive files residing on NAS devices."

How do I register this NAS device in the Veeam v9 console so I can browse it and select the files / folders that are on it?

Thanks
Adam

Add it as a share to a backup server and use a full UNC path as a source for file to tape job.

If you're planning to use multiple UNC paths, kindly, open a ticket with our support team and request a hot fix, because currently there is an issue when multiple UNC paths are selected as a source for file to tape job.

Thanks.

When you say add as a share do you mean like a mount point or just a regular windows share?

Thanks

Configure NAS an ordinary CIFS share, then, go to the setting of file to tape job, Files and Folders, click Add and specify an UNC path to the share in the path field at the bottom. Thanks.
