Error: Retrieving file list Call execution timeout (100 sec)
I am trying to understand what this error means and how to resolve it. I am receiving this for every VM on two different hosts under the same management server.

Hello,
Can you give us a little bit more information please:
what version of Veeam Backup are you using? As I correctly understand this error comes up while you're doing a backup, right? Also it'll be great to see the logs from Help->Support Information, please send us the job logs with those errors to support@veeam.com

Was away for a couple days. The version of is 3.1. This error comes up when running a scheduled backup. I have submitted the logs with the same subject line as this post.

Still receiving this same error when trying to backup vm's. created a new backup, selected one vm from a host that displays as licensed, chose a new path for the bvm backup and receive this same message. is anyone able to shed some light on this? we need to ensure we are getting valid backups of our vm's (obviously).

a_user, we are investigating several similar reports right now, looks like in all cases we have to deal with ESX 4. We'll keep you posted.

Force Agentless Mode works Force Console does not
I have discovered something through trial and error. It appears if I configure the esx host to 'Force Agentless Mode' through Veeam Backup I can connect and backup vm's. If I choose automatic or Force service console agent mode' It will time time out retrieving file list.
My concern here is in performance and throughput of the backups. To my knowledge nothing on the ESX host should be causing this. I have disabled the firewall and allowed root access by modifying the sshd file. Those are the only changes I have made on our ESX hosts.
Any ideas?

We have the same problem and have been unable to get rid of it. We are using ESX4 as well. Hope you will be able to solve this soon.

I am experiencing the same issues. Using ESX 4.0 and Veeam 4.1.1
Backups complete to 100% and then fail with call execution timeout error.
Was there a resolution?
