Missing a cool console feature

Post by finnbusk »

Hi
We do love the new independent console in Veeam V9 and the possibility to login in to
several backup servers from the same console/server.
How ever we miss one specific feature !
We miss the possibility to see the logins as tabs on the console.
(if you know SuperPutty, which is used for making tabs for putty connections, then you can see what I mean)
This would be a great future request.
Best Regards

Hi and welcome to the community!

Several tabs in putty might be very convenient to manage connections to multiple servers, however I'm curious why would you need that functionality in VBR console? Do you want to manage several VBR servers with one remote console?

Thank you.

Yes, I have a number of B&R servers that I would like to manage from the "same" console.
We are worldwide app 7 people accessing/administrating the B&R servers, and often we hit
the limitation of max two rdp connections to a server.

We have the Enterprise Manager installed but uses it very little.
The installation has never been particular usefull, very slow and often times-out.
Currently it is actually just used for "hosting" the license file..
(and yes, Veeam people has been involved reg the lack of performance)

I do not have a case ID.
It has been when Chris Dearden and/or Preben Berg has been visiting us.

If the machine that hosts Enterprise Manager meets the requirements then I suggest you to open a case with our support team so they can investigate the issue. Also, would you use EM to manage multiple VBR installation if it worked faster?

Thank you.

[MERGED] feature request.

A real nice feature to add would be to allow me to connect to serval Veeam servers inside the new console. With the console being separate I connect to 4 Veeam servers in version 9. It would be perfect if the jobs and status were combined. Maybe an enterprise feature. If combining the information can’t work then connecting to the servers the way SQL manager allows you to connect and shows multiple SQL connections.
