2nd Hyper-V Host - Object not found
Support number: 00620341
I am using the Veeam 9 with the latest update applied. I can backup VM's on my local host no problems. I have just introduced a 2nd Hyper V host to my network which currently has 2xVM's. I can connect the 2nd Host to Veeam no problems, i can create the backup job for the VM which seems to be fine - it reports a disk size of 18.1Gb. However, when i run the job, it starts and reports:
Job started at 14/04/2016 16:45:41
14/04/2016 16:46:10 :: Building VMs list
14/04/2016 16:46:39 :: VM size: 0.0 KB
14/04/2016 16:46:39 :: No objects to process
The job then fails
Can anyone point me in a direction to resolve this issue please?
Cheers
Aidan

Re: 2nd Hyper-V Host - Object not found
Hi Aidan,
Is it a standalone host? Is there a chance the VM is being migrated during the backup job? Wasn`t VM`s name changed?
I would try to add the host into backup list instead of separate VMs,
Thanks!

Yes, its a standalone host. I dont think its being migrated or the names changed - I have only just connected the host to the domain.
I have as you suggested tried to do a backup of the host incorporating the VM's but it fails with the exact same error

My suggestion is to use VM containers(hosts, vm folders etc.) instead of separate VMs. This way all VMs of the host are to be backed up despite of the changes inside.
In your case I would contact the support team to investigate the issue.
Thanks!

Re: 2nd Hyper-V Host - Object not found
I think i have found my problem. Licensing. The licence we bought was for 2cpu's/8 cores. By trying to add the 2nd host, it breached the license which we bought. It was only an experiment... at this point, so a license re-visit sometime in the future will be needed to run the two hosts and backup the VEEAM.

Aidan, that indeed may be the reason.
If license is exceeded VBR lets you create a job, but when running it VMs are not backed up. Is there anything license-related in the error description?
Thanks!
