Linux VM - Exclude Objects from Backup Job

Post by DRUMDUDESAN »

Hi,
I am a newbie to Veeam (1 month/New Company). What am I doing wrong?
I am following the manual Exclude Objects from Backup Job. I click selected disks and exclude scsi0:1. I save the job queue but it always automatically includes all the disks attached to VM. It recalculates the total disk storage which includes the 2nd disk I excluded. I tried with and with out the option "Remove excluded disk from VM Configuration".
Veeam 6.5
VM=Ubuntu
/vmfs/volumes/5595350c-606fe938-594a-001517bee431/CnxSFTP # cat SFTP.vmx | grep hard
powerType.powerOn = "hard"
powerType.suspend = "hard"
scsi0:0.deviceType = "scsi-hardDisk"
scsi0:1.deviceType = "scsi-hardDisk"
:?:
Thanks

Hi Jeff,

Your disks are excluded from the backup job, it is just a UI glitch that was fixed in later versions of Veeam B&R.

Any reason why you're still running Veeam B&R v6.5 (no longer supported)?

Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for the confirmation on this.
I'll add that Veeam upgrade project to the list.
Thanks again.
