Replica Disk type Setting

Post by BartP »

Hey guys,

During the creation of a replica, you can choose which disk type will be used when creating the replica.
Per Default, this is set to thin and can be adjusted to either Thick or Same Type As Source Disk.
This is known and documented.

However, i got a request if it's possible to set the default disk type to Thick due company policy of using Thick provisioning.
Is there a registry setting that can be added/changed to give the Target Disk type a different default than Thin?

Thanks and Veeam on!

Hello Bart,
Unfortunately there is no registry to change to switch default disk type.
We will count that as a feature request though.
Thanks for the feedback!

Currently you can use a PowerShell script to make changes to a number of replication jobs. Here is an example of how to edit replication job settings via PowerShell.

Thanks
