Restarting old replicas

Post by marius roma »

I have a Group of VMs that have not been replicated for a quite long time, let's say some months.
When I try to replicate again I get lots of errors, meybe because some VM at the target site are corrupted due to failing replicas, the disk size of other VMs at the source site changed, some VMs at the target site were moved from a datastore to another one, and so on.
A possible Solution could be deleting all the replicas at the target site.
Is there a smarter solotion, let's say tell B&R update VMs at the target site if possible, otherwise delete and re-create them from scratch?

Hi,

What kind of errors do you get?
the disk size of other VMs at the source site changed
Please check this thread regarding source disk size changes.
were moved from a datastore to another one, and so on.
Probably morefids of some VMs have changed. Have you tried to remap the replication jobs and start replication again?

Yes, you can recreate replication job if needed and use replica seeding in order to avoid transferring duplicate data.

Thanks
