Rename vmdk pose problem backupin VEEAM

Hello,

I have a Vm with 3 disk. We have renamed one disk to good remember who is it , but after it is impossible to backup the Vm.


2016-06-14 10:41:46Error: The specified item was already backed up or backup was not completed.
Failed to download disk.
Shared memory connection was closed.
Failed to upload disk.
Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}.


I gave done a clone with no problem, and without rename the 3 vmdk the backup is work.

Any suggestions ?

Hello,

How did you rename the Disks? You should do it on the console with vmkfstools (vmkfstools -E OldFileName.vmdk NewFileName.vmdk).
If you rename it trough the vsphere Client, the "-flat.vmdk" files are not renamed...

Yes you are right, the vmdk is not renamed.
we will proceed as you said and i keep you informed.

Yes we have renamed by the browser and not via the console.

Ok it's works like that.
The -flat .cmdk is good renamed and with the new name of the disk. And the backup is working better.
