Synthetic full backup issue

Post by jamerson »

Hi guys,
In our production we have 4TB Data and 8TB HDD for backup , the saved backup points are for 3 points.
the backup runs fine after a week its shows up the below error.

Code: Select all

Synthetic full backup creation failed Error: There is not enough space on the disk. Failed to write data to the file [D:\Backups\Daily\Daily2016-06-18T204236.vbk].
any suggestions how to get this fixed ? like avoid the full backup ?

Hi Julien,
It happens because you don`t have enough space for another full backup which is created during the synthetic merge. To avoid it you can use methods requiring only one full backup: reverse or forever forward incremental.
Thanks!

To have only 1 full backup on the repository you need to uncheck active full backups.
And it`s recommended to leverage Veeam Surebackup to verify the backups.
