VM hardware

Post by Piotr »

Hi,
Does VB&R save also VM hardware configuration? I mean that when I backup VM, increase RAM and then restore VM, I will get VM with the amount of RAM I had before backup. And what about VM with independent disk?

Regards

Yes, the VM hardware configuration is backed up. However if you make a change after the last backup and then need to do a restore of course the restore will be with the previous hardware configuration. :-) As to VMs with independent disks, we can backup the VM but we won't backup the independent disks. The user guide specifically calls out that independent disks aren't supported.

Here is also a good topic dedicated to the independent disks backup. Take a look for more info.
Thanks!
