Feature Request: Export the info on backup data properties

Post by pkelly_sts »

When right-clicking Backups | Disk | <backup-name> Copy (or any other of the backup jobs "on-disk" info) there is great summary information available that allows you to understand exactly what is on disk & what it's made up of.

It would be extremely useful if we could export this information to a file or, at the very least, allow us to select it all so that we can paste it where we need it (e.g. into Excel).

Hello Paul,
Do you mean this window?
Image
All kind of historical information is available for downloading in Veeam ONE. Do you use it?
Thanks!

That's the one. Unfortunately management here has deemed that Veeam ONE doesn't bring enough cost-benefit to the table & have chosen not to invest in it so that's unavailable to me.

Have you checked Veeam B&R job report? It has the same information.

But that's nothing at all like the info above, plus it's per job, I'm interested in the storage-level view (how much space is consumed by a particular job, what the average change rate is etc.)

There would be lots of work to convert the job report to the data sitting in the window we're talking about here.

Well, the provided screenshot doesn`t show storage-level view as well.
You probably need something like Backup Files Growth Capacity Planning for Backup Repositories but again that`s Veeam ONE since you deal with advanced monitoring and reporting. You may trial for free it to see if it actually has enough value for you or leverage powershell like many other users without Veeam ONE do.
