How to update tape list when Veeam has drive locked on a job

Post by $username »

Hi,

So I have a job running right now where it is requesting another tape, I have added a tape to the library but I can't see any way to update the tape list.

If I try to rerun the inventory scan it doesn't due to the drive having a tape in it and it won't allow me to eject the tape either.

Is there a way other than stopping the job?

I would like to avoid that as it is currently 66% done and I don't want to waste that time or tape space.

Running version 8.0.0.2084

Hi,

Check if the new media was assigned to the media pool automatically - it happens when 'Add tapes from Free media pool automatically when more tapes are required' media pool option is enabled (Media Pool properties Tapes step). If it’s not – you have to manually move new tape from free media pool to the desired one. Thanks.

When I go to media pool it shows one in unrecognized, if I right click it the option to move to media pool is greyed out, the entire context tree is greyed out.

And it's not possible to inventory/catalog media or erase it? Thanks.
