Hi all,
I have a file server with 3 additionally attached VHDX files.
For example:
0 - OS (60GB)
1 - DATA 1 (200GB)
2 - DATA 2 (300GB)
3 - DATA 3 (400GB)
Say for example DATA 3 needs to be restored, is there a way to restore it without having to restore ALL disks?
I know you can use a VM Files restore job, but this restores to another location and an Entire VM recovery can take a long time depending on VHDX size.
In the VMWare guide, it appears there is an option for Virtual Drive Recovery https://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/vsp ... overy.html, why isn't this a thing for Hyper-V?
Perhaps my design is wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Re: File Server Restore Method
You can restore particular .vhdx using VM Files Restoration wizard. Just select the location you want to restore it to (there is no one preventing from selecting original disk location), choose particular disk while excluding other unneeded files and execute the restoration process.
Can you elaborate a bit on what specific problems you have with that approach?
Thanks.

Re: File Server Restore Method
Hi,
Sorry, i had a massive lapse of brain activity when i wrote this post.
You are correct, VM Files is exactly what i was looking for, for some reason my brain could not see the server drop down.
All tested and sorted now.
Sorry for wasting your time.
Cheers
