Multiple Options for Email Settings

Post by garybelanger »

Hi,

I would like to submit a new feature that will allow us to configure different email settings for both Backup & Replication jobs and Endpoint jobs. We have Endpoint backups pointed to our Backup & Replication server and we don't need to see some of the email notices for Endpoint jobs, but we do need to see them for our Backup & Replication jobs. But currently, the Email settings on the Veeam Backup & Replication server covers all jobs. I would like to see this separated by other another tab for Endpoint Job Email Settings or another way to separate them.

Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. As a workaround you can use notification settings on Endpoint's side.

Hi,

We currently don't set email notification on the Client side, it is only set on the Veeam Backup & Replication Server because we have Server jobs, but yet have Endpoints pointed to the same server so it picks up the only Email Notifications settings which is for All Backups. In the end, we really don't need to know the status of the Endpoint Backups. Once we have tested that it works on the Client the initial setup time, then it can run on it's own. We will check the client every few months when we take it in for Updates etc.. and make sure that the backup is running.

So by having Email Notifications split on the server end, we can tell it that we don't need any notifications for Endpoints.

Thanks.

Do you know if there is a Feature Request for adding this option already in the works? If not, can a Feature Request be submitted for a future update?

Thanks.

I'm not sure whether it was reported before, but posting here you've actually made a feature request.

As a workaround for now you can disable global notification settings in Veeam B&R (to remove VEB notifications) and set individual/granular notification configuration for each backup job. Feel free to use PowerShell cmdlets to automate this process. Thanks!
