Off-site backup for Veeam

Post by marvlems »

We're using Veeam B&R V9 Enterprise edition and I'm looking for an off-site backup location. I have currently 6 VM's I want to backup off-site with a total of 1300GB of storage (Full disks) and the datacenter needs to be in Europe. I know I can use Veeam Cloud Connect and found a local cloud-provider which supports CC. An alternative is Amazon Storage Gateway. Here there are basically 2 versions: Volume Storage or Virtual Tape (VTL). Is their someone who did the same investigation and has any suggestions for me?
Thanks in advance!

VTL would be a recommended approach.

Though, be aware that archiving data to Amazon cannot be considered as direct alternative to Cloud Connect for the reasons stated here.

Thanks.

I would advise you to ask for a trial account at the Veeam Cloud Connect provider and do some tests with them. In regards to Amazon, have a look at this thread and this one.
