a Few quick Veeam questions please

Post by Hasslehogg »

Hi

can anyone help me with a few quick Veeam questions to satisfy my business case please?:

1 Can Veeam be used in conjunction with management tools such as SCOM?
2 Does Veeam B&R support different language types (e.g. double byte support)
3 Alerting, is there alerting on job failure, or on long running jobs? what kind of alerts are possible?

thanks in advance for you help

Hi Michael,

1. Yes, since v5 to be released tomorrow does put its events in the Windows Event log.
2. Yes, but there are some limitations (see Release Notes under Known Issues).
3. Yes for job statuses. No for long running at the moment, but this was requested couple of times before so I have put this on the roadmap already.

Thanks!

Gostev, you are Anton? Are you related to Starwind's Anton? I found StarWind is another great Russian storage software company, just wonder.

No, I am not related to Starwind's Anton :) but I've met him before. Great guy and great company, they are like Veeam in SMB shared storage world (also doing some pretty cool and innovative things).
