Windows File Paths Longer Than 255 Characters

Hi

Is that maximum character limit at guest file restore?

For example if deleted file path longer than 255, can i recover via copy to? Maybe original location restore cannot work but if i'm recover via copy to its ok.

Someone told me some backup softwares character limit 300. In veeam whats is the character limit at backup cycle?

Maybe its stupid question because Veeam works snapshot style but I'm have to tell the client correct answer.

Mehmet, as far as I remember, all long file names/paths issues during Windows FLR were fixed in Veeam B&R at least a couple of versions back. Both backup and restore to original/copy to should work for paths longer than 255 characters. Do you observe different behavior?

No but we are try to sell Veeam but company use another backup solution. IT guy told me backup solution he used support path more than 255 character backup & restore. Veeam support more than 255? so I want to be sure

Yes, Veeam B&R supports longer paths.
