Hello,
we are going to upgrade to vSphere (ESXi) 4.1 next week, and with that comes the need to look at our backup/restore strategy. Currently using VeeAM 4.1.2 on a physical server.
The current physical machine is kind of stretched when it comes to hardware and memory (3 years old), so I was thinking to deploy a brand new W2K8R2 X64 VM with 4GB memory and 2 or 4vCPU's to handle the VeeAM backups.
These backups will run at night or in weekends, when the rest of the virtual enviroment is doing almost nothing.
Is this a supported and/or wise scenario to deploy or should I just keep using the current physical server?

Re: Running Veeam 5 in a VM
Sure, supported and very wide spread for non 24/7 shops with most ESX resources unused during the night.

Calling this a fast reply would be an understatement, thank you very much Gostev!
