Fetaure Request - Remove Retention policy after VM completes

Post by dazza »

Good Afternoon

I was wondering if the remove restore point from retention policy for replications could be done after the VM has completed replicating and deleting helper snapshots etc. I believe it could shave a few minutes of jobs by not having to wait till all VM's have completed before removing the retention points.

Regards
Darren

Actually, this was specifically changed a couple of versions ago to reduce the time difference between replicated states of all replicated VMs.

[MERGED] Remove Snapshot in replication job

Post by dledoux45 »

Any particular reason why Veeam waits to remove a snapshot/apply retention policy/rollup target snap until the end of a job? In other words if a replication job has 4 VM's in it, veeam won't begin to remove snapshots 'apply the retention policy' until all Vm's in that job have replicated their data over. It would seem like Veeam could decrease the amount of time the replication job takes in total or at least spread out the load of removing target snapshots if the veeam job began to remove the target snapshot on a per VM basis....after that VM has replicated its data over.
