Is there a way to create a rule to notify someone if a new VM is added to a cluster or vcenter or host?

Hi Nathaniel,

Yes, that's possible. Whenever you create a new VM, navigate to tasks&events tab in Monitor Client, copy the corresponding event name and then go to alarms management and create an event based alarm (assigned to the required vCenter Server).
