Problem restoring Windows VM guest files

Post by jerome2310 »

Hi,

Here is my settings:
I have an ESXi essential kit with 2VMs:
2008 x86 with AD,DNS,DHCP...
2 virtualdisks: C:\System (NTFS, dynamique partition)
D:\DATA (NTFS, dynamique partition)
2003 x86 with Veeam B&R v5 Entreprise x86.
2 virtualdisks: C:\Sustem2003 (NTFS, dynamique partition)
D:\DATA2003 (veeam backup target) (NTFS, dynamique partition)

My Backup job configuration:
Virtual Appliance Mode with Failover
I only selected the 2008 VM (with both virtualdisks)
Backup destination:
This computer
D:\DATA2003
Restore points to keep: 4

Advanced Settings
Reversed incremential
inline data deduplication Enabled
Local Target
Changed block tracking Enabled
VMware tools quiescence Enabled
automatic backup integrity check Enabled
application-aware image Enabled
guest file system indexing Enabled

The backup job is successfull.

The problem goes when i try to restore VM guest file.

I used the Restore Wizard from Veeam B&R installed on the Windows 2003x86 VM.
I checked Restore from backup and Guest files (Windows)
I selected the 2008x86 VM
The last Full restore point
And when i click on Finish, i get a message:
c:\ mount failed
Le volume ne contient pas de system de fichiers connu.Vérifiez si tous les pilotes de systeme
de fichiers necessaires sont chargés et si le volume n'est pas endommagé.
I click OK and i get another message:
e:\ mount failed
Le volume ne contient pas de system de fichiers connu.Vérifiez si tous les pilotes de systeme
de fichiers necessaires sont chargés et si le volume n'est pas endommagé.
I click OK
Then i get the Backup browser windows
but i only have the 2008VM C:system partition mounted
so i can not restore files from my 2nd 2008VM virtualdisk (D:\DATA)

Why do i have those message and why i only get one virtual disk mounted?

Thanks
