Keep 1 backup copy on USB drive

Post by Flappie »

Hello,

I have to following situation:

- Backup with 5 restore points on main location of all VM's
- Backup copy job from main location to secundairy location. We keep day backups, weekbackups and monthbackups here.

Our customer also asks for a backup on USB drive. I created a second copy job to copy all backups to the USB drive, however the minimum is to keep 2 restorepoints! Our USB drive is not big enough to hold 2 backups.
What is the best way to do this? It would be great if there is an option to keep only 1 full backup on an location.

Thanks.

The second restore point in the chain will always be incremental, so contain only changes (i.e. typically much smaller in size). If you want just a single file on USB drive, you can configure the repository as rotated and enable disk cleanup prior the job cycle.
