Delete the Replicas folder
On a datastore I see a \Replicas folder whose contents was updated more than one year ago.
How can I see if the folder is still in use and safely delete it?
Regards
Marius

Re: Delete the Replicas folder
Hello Mario, do you mean you see the folder on the backup repository or production datastore?

Re: Delete the Replicas folder
This folder is used by replication jobs to store replicated VMs metadata. You can check whether it contains any subfolders named after the VMs you currently replicate. Anyway, deleting metadata is pretty safe as it will be recreated, if required, the corresponding job run will just take a bit longer.

[MERGED] Replicas folder
I am removing a NAS used as a repository for backup jobs.
The NAS contains a folder named \replicas
I presume it contains temporary data used by replicas.
Can I delete it?
How can I detect which replicas job use the folder?
Should I check each job to see if it uses the repositoty?
What happens if I remove the repository and a replica job still points to the repository for its temporary files?
Regards

Re: Delete the Replicas folder
Simply deleting the folder is safe, but since you're removing the entire repository, you need to redirect replication jobs using it to another one.

Re: Delete the Replicas folder
Thank you for your message.
Given I have several replica jobs, is there a way to redirect the jobs without editing each single job?
Regards

Re: Delete the Replicas folder
Depending on how much jobs you need to edit, you might consider creating a PowerShell script for this.
