Veeam Direct SAN Access and VMware VMDirectPath

Post by b.vanhaastrecht »

Hi,

Would it be posible to use Veeam's Direct SAN Access with an Fiber Channel adapter presented to the guest OS thru VMDirectPath?

We want to utilize the Fiber Channel SAN access on a Veeam Proxy VM.

Anyone tried this perhaps?

Regards,
Bastiaan

Hi Bastian,
I heard people doing it successfully, have never tried myself because of the lack of any FC fabric in my lab. Another option, again untried, would be to use NPIV, but the final result would be the same, with the addition of using the same FC card for both the host and the guest.
