Failed to create Recovery Media

hello,

I just got a new Notebook (HP ProX2) with Windows 8.1 64 Bit installed.
After installing the latest Version of Veam Endpoint Backup I tried to create a recovery media on an usb-stick connected to the Notebook via usb 3.

the folliwing steps was done:

29.01.2015 11:52:26 Error    Copying boot files
29.01.2015 11:52:53          Unmounting recovery image
29.01.2015 11:52:53 Error    Failed to create recovery media: Die angegebene Datei konnte nicht gefunden werden.

can someone help me?

Andreas,

It might be an issue with us not getting access to the USB for some reason. Could you use the built-in support email system to log a case so we can investigate?

Also please post the case ID here so we can keep track of it

Check with support team, I believe they already have a fix for this issue.

Here is the solution that worked for me from the support team:

Disable anti-virus or uninstall it.

Install Windows ADK. Here are the steps:

- Download and install Windows 8.1 ADK Deployment Tools from there - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=39982
(For Windows Server 2012 R2.... the bottom 4 options are unnecessary)

- Open a "Run" window by typing Win + R key combination.

- Type regedit and click enter.

- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Software --> Veeam --> Veeam Endpoint Backup.

- Then create a DWORD value called "ForceUseAdkForRecoveryMedia" (without quotes) and set the value to 1

- Restart the Veeam Endpoint service (or reboot the PC) and run again.

- Run Create Recovery Media Wizard once again to create a new recovery image.

Installing ADK and trying to recreate recovery media failed on WIN 10 with WINRE component missing. Install ADK, which I already installed. Previously I received error msg of insufficient space.
