Endpoint Backup to Tape (GFS)

Hello

I have a problem with a GFS backup to tape job. The sources for the job are one VMware Backup and two Endpoint Backups. The job is set to create a weekly backup on Sundays and a monthly backup on every first Sunday of a month. The backup runs perfect, except for the first weekly after the monthly backup. It always creates a monthly and a weekly copy of the endpoint backups. The monthly backup the week before was successful btw.

Any ideas?

Not sure what particular issue you're talking about. Based on the provided information, it seems that every first Sunday of the month, GFS backup to tape job synthesizes a monthly restore point, skipping a weekly one. That's expected behaviour, if both weekly and monthly GFS restore points are scheduled to the same day, priority is given to monthly one. Thanks.

09.10.2016 was the second Sunday of October. There was already a monthly backup of the endpoints on 02.10.2016.

No, the Backup from 02.10.2016 is still on the monthly tape.

I have:

2 Tapes Monthly Media Set 02.10.2016 (1 x VM Backup Job, 2 Endpoint Backups)
2 Tapes Weekly Media Set 09.10.2016 (1 x VM Backup Job, 2 Endpoint Backups)
1 Tape Monthly Media Set 09.10.2016 (2 Endpoints Backups, same Backup as the one from 02.10.2016)
