Request: Consolidation Tool

Post by lepphce1 » 1 person likes this post

Hello,
I've been using the Endpoint Backup program for some time now, and it's awesome!

I apologize if this subject has been brought up before. One "pain point" I have is there are a few situations I've run into where a machine has needed to be rebuilt or replaced, and I've used the Endpoint Backup to protect those files. I'd like to keep that "old" backup for posterity/archive reasons, but I'm stuck with a really long backup chain. I really don't need restore points for archive, and the chain takes up more space than just the final version of the backup. It would be nice to have a tool that would simply consolidate all incrementals into a consolidated .vbk. Make sense? Thanks for considering!

Hi lepphce1,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! So you would like to have an option to shrink an ‘orphaned’ backup chain via VEB, right?
