Possible localization bug

Post by mme@coretech.dk »

When restoring an item to a user that has a different language than English, the restored mail item goes to “Inbox” folder and not the localized Inbox folder – for Danish: Indbakke:

Restored items is transferred to folder Inbox:

But the primary Inbox is Indbakke:

So the user never sees the effect of the restored mail items.

Thanks, Morten, we'll take a look, however this looks like more a Veeam Explorer for Exchange issue to me.

Did you have Inbox folder prior the restore or it was created by VEX?

Morten, these two screenshots show different messages.

Could you please answer these questions? Should help in understanding your issue:
  • What is the subject of the test message?
  • What was the original folder (when the backup job started) for this message?
  • What were the steps/options for restore?
Thanks.

Sorry for late response.

The screenshots are different yes, the first shows the "Inbox" folder where I restored 2 mailitems, and the second shows "Indbakke" (Inbox in danish) where I have one mail left (so I started with 3 in total). The 2 mails from Indbox was deleted in Indbakke, and then later restored in the VEEAM Explorer to Inbox (this only showed the english names).

Also, I did'nt in fact have any folder called Inbox before I restored the mailitems, so seems like veeam have created the folder itself. And this Inbox folder is not the right Inbox folder = new mails arrive at Indbakke and not this new Inbox folder. I have not yet integrated the account with Outlook, so it could work there.

It was a trial office365 I tried on that just ended, so can't replicate it right now.

Anyone else experienced this ?

Morten,

Thanks for coming back to us with the explanation. Our team will certainly have a look at it. In the meantime we have an RC available if you want to try again (and open a new trial account ;-)) veeam-backup-for-microsoft-office-365-f ... 38574.html

Cheers

Morten,

We don't seem to be able to succeed in reproducing this issue. I know you can't replicate it again (since it was a trial account) but if you have any memory of settings / parameters that you specifically used, it could be very helpful.

thanks
Mike
