v9.0.0.1491 I have a backup job (multiple VMs) with a 7 day retention. I now have a request to retain 2 of the VM backups for 90 days. Is there any way I can keep those VMs from aging for 90 days?

You can leverage backup copy job to make a copy of backups and set separate retention for it.

Do you want to preserve the whole 7-days chain or 1 restore point is enough?
Are you going to save the backups for 90 days periodically?

Yes - all 7-days... This is a 1-time job - I won't be doing this on a regular basis.

In this case I would use file copy job to copy that chain.
There is no native backup retention in that job, but you can leverage powershell to remove the folder of backups in X days.

Do you mean the ability to restore from backups that were copied with the file copy job? Yes, you can import the chain into Veeam B&R any time after that and perform any kind of restore operations.

No, source of file copy jobs are files and folders. File copy job is a good solution for OP`s case, but if you want to copy new backups from repository you better use backup copy job.
