Veeam Enterprise Manager V5 logon

Post by peanutp »

Hello - I have just installed Veam v5 Backup and Replication, along with the enterprise manager. The Backup and replication is all ok, but I cannot logon to the Enterprise UI - everything I try it gives me a sysntax error "ext-all.js Line 7 char 100647" I am using the account I used to install the product, but have also tried local admin of the box. It is installed on a Windows 2008 Ent R2 64bit server. anyone come across this before and know how to resolve??

thanks

Peter.

Hello Peter,

Please try another browser to access Enterprise Manager, or even try to access it from another PC.
Tell us the result, the only assumption for now is a browser misbehavior. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Already tried from another pc and various browsers and get the same issue. IE7 and IE8 give the original error. chrome and firefox just hang and do nothing.

Could you tell me if you have any other websites deployed on the same server that hosts Enterprise Manager? I would try to install EM on the clean machine while contacting our support team for assistance with this issue.

This server was a clean build last week specifically for Veeam to run on. No other sites are running.

Well, something is not clean either on EM server, or on computer where you run browser on, because clean installs definitely do not have this issue... moreover, this issue has not been reported before even for "dirty" installs...

Before I log with support, are there any Veeam logs I can check?

You may want to look through these log files for more information:

Code: Select all

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager\generated\log.txt

C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Application Data\Veeam\Backup\VeeamBES.log

Sorted it! Seems Veeam doesn't like certain characters in passwords!! I was using angle brackets <> around my password which it didn't like. Always something simple in the end! thanks Peter.

Yes, misplaced brackets can certainly mess up HTML pretty bad
Really funny bug this is!
