GA Issues

Post by n0creativity »

I would absolutely LOVE to log a support ticket, but that would require a "Support ID" but the License information screen in Backup for MS Office 365 does not have a support ID. And yes, I did install my 1 year "production" free license (since I have Enterprise B&R).

Can you help me out and be a bit more specific about what this means?
If you have participated in the public beta of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, be sure to uninstall the pre-release versions of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 and Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange, and delete the archive repository before installing the release version of this product.
Especially the
delete the archive repository
part?

I uninstalled the preview version using Add\Remove Programs, deleted the content in the backup destination folder that was specified in the preview version.
When I installed the GA version, it still knew my organization and account details and it had my previous scheduled job. Which I found a bit strange as I assumed that this would be cleared with my previous actions.
Anyway, to be safe I removed the job and my account details and re-added it all.

When I ran a backup using newly entered account info, I seem to be experiencing some of the same issues that I did with the initial preview release (prior to installing the preview patch).
- Every mailbox backup was failing
- I was unable to scroll through the list of enumerated mailboxes in the running backup. When I tried to, the scroll bar jumped around and always return to the bottom.

Before I go any further, I just want to make sure I did the "uninstall" steps correctly for the preview and see if I need to do anything else.

Hi David,

Please try to perform these steps:
1. Close Shell
2. Stop Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 service
3. Clean your repository folder
4. Clean C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup365 folder
5. Start Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 service

This will let you start from the scratch.
Let me know if it works for you.

You can open *.lic file with Notepad and copy support ID from there.

Hello David,

Can you please clarify when you are prompted for a support ID on the customer portal side? Thanks in advance.

I have already checked and it's not the required field.

It has a red * which generally indicates that it is required.

This seems to have cleared up the majority of the issues. Thank you!
The scroll bar is still a bit jumpy\sticky when you are trying to scroll through the list of mailboxes that are in a currently running backup.

Well this is really strange, because it does not have red * on my account... the rest is exactly the same!

@David,

We noted the problem with the support ID that it is not visible directly. We will discuss to make it better visible

Thanks for letting us know

Just an FYI, the screenshot I posted above is hosted on one of those anonymous, temporary image storage sites. I think it will become invalid within a week of the post

David,

That's OK. We saw it and have noted it down so no worries :-)
