Data Read field

Post by fll »

Hello,
Is there a report in Veeam ONE that includes the Data Read field that does appear in the Veeam Backup & Replication jobs reports?
Thank you.

Hello Nikita, in that report the fields "Data Size" and "Transferred" appear, but not the field of my "Data Read" query. I believe, please confirm it if it is so, that this field comes from the CBT information and is indicative of the changes that have occurred in the virtual machine since the last backup job.

Thank you.

If you want to review the size of the changes, then this report can help > VM Change Rate History

You are right,

Data size — total size of all VM disks processed by the job.
Read — amount of data read from the datastore by the source-side Data Mover Service prior to applying compression and deduplication.
Transferred size is the amount of data the backup job transferred to the destination.

Data Read is not present in the report yet. We may add it in next product versions though. Could you explain your use case, please?
Thanks!

Hi Nikita, in that report the changes refer to changes in the backup repository not in the virtual machine. Changes to the virtual machine ("Data Read") apply compression and deduplication reductions, and the result is shown in the report ("Total Incremental Changes (GB)").

Thank you.

I have got it.
Your request is to get amount of data read from the datastore before compression and deduplication.
I`m just curious, what is the use case?

Thank you.
