Hi,
we run the 9.5 VEEAM B&R in a Windows 2008R2 VM on ESXi 5.5
Is there a significant advantage in Performance by updating to Server 2012R2 OS ?
Is VEEAM profit from new features to improve performance on B&R Server or Proxy Server ?
thanks
Ulrich

Re: VEEAM VM OS Upgrade neccessary ?
Hi Ulrich,
Upgrading just to a later version of the OS for the Veeam components might not change anything in terms of better data processing. If you want to get better job performance rates, you need to look at the bottlenecks stats for each job.
Thanks!

Re: VEEAM VM OS Upgrade neccessary ?
Actually, upgrading from 2008R2 specifically may improve processing performance, as from what I remember 2008R2 does have some issues around system cache handling logic which may impact backup performance in certain scenario. Other than that, as a rule of thumb OS version does not affect performance that much. Thanks!
