Hyper V - How many VM's you are backing up using Veeam

Post by Farazi »

hello,

I wanted to know how many Hyper V VM's you backup using Veeam. I currently backup close to 400. I wanted to see if some one is backing up more and any suggestions with backing up more that they can share

Thank you

Hello Faraz,
Do you use per-VM backup option?
If yes, I would recommend to read this thread.
Thanks!

wow 835 hyper v vms , nice!

were you able to get it scheduled all in one day 24 hour period?

im concerned my time is running out for backup since I have large vm's are as well. i have about 8 hours to play with and still have to back up new vms which are about 650

We have about 90 Backup jobs and do not perform synthetic fulls. Instead we do monthly active full backups and stagger when the full's run across the month so only 3 full backups run per day. We are backing up to a dedup appliance that backs up to AWS Glacier and we average 8 to 1 dedup.

I'm looking forward to 9.5, because the upgrades prior to 9.5 were horrific. It would take weeks to catch up after CBT reset with the upgrade. The product prior to 9.5 was definitely catered to smaller hyper-v environments.
