Move to Vault is grayed out

Post by pufferdude »

I have two tapes that have files from a Files to Tape job that I want to archive (that is, take out of the loader and put them in long term storage.) I thought I needed to put them in a "Vault" but I can't figure out how to do so. When I right-click on either tape, the Move To Vault option is grayed out. Yes, I have a vault created. Am I missing something obvious, or am I not understanding the purpose of a "Vault"?

Hello Jim, you need to move the tape offline first.
You can do it manually or set the corresponding Media Pool option.
Thanks

Thanks, I was getting stuck on how to "offline" a tape. Apparently with my setup I actually have to remove the tapes from the loader so that Veeam sees them as "offline", after which I can move them to the vault.

You are welcome.
Maybe we should show an information message that tape need to be offline instead of greying out the option. We will discuss it with the team.
Thanks for the feedback!
