Backing up Oracle on RHEL 6?
What would be the best method when the Agent for Linux is released to backup Oracle 11g running on RHEL 6.x? We have 3 physical production servers that currently run RMAN for backing up to data domain and then weekly run a separate RMAN to tape and then sent off-site. I would like to figure out a method to replace the current process and didn't know if the Agent for Linux could do that or not. If it can, what is the best way to skin that cat?

You can call scripts via the agents so you could make a RMAN dump before making the backup and include it within the backup job.
However you can stick to the current script (and just call this via the agent) and perform a dump to the data domain by leveraging this feature.
