Integration with PRTG

Post by zoltank »

Since Veeam ONE is able to send SNMP notifications, has anyone been able to integrate it with PRTG?

We use PRTG extensively, and I particularly like how easily it gives me visibility into the health of my entire network along with their excellent smartphone app.

Hi zoltank,

Good question, looking to hear from existing users as well. Do you use Veeam ONE for backup monitoring and reporting?

Thanks!

Only tangentially. It's main use is monitoring our ESXi environments.

Ok, the reason I ask this is because the main power of Veeam ONE is Veeam B&R reporting and monitoring. If you're searching for just ESXi monitoring, then SNMP tramps should be a way to go, our MIB file is located at the Veeam ONE installation folder.

Well, I imported the MIB file and struggled with it for days, but ultimately I couldn't get it to work. :(

Zoltank, can you please clarify what's the issue right now (after importing a MIB file)?

There's just no communication from the Veeam ONE server to PRTG, regardless of what I try.

Did you try to send SNMP traps to any 3rd party free tool? This would help us to nail down the issue. Once SNMP are sent, we can start troubleshooting PRTG integration.
