Yearly Media Pool

Hi,

I have a Yearly Media Pool with 9 tapes, 7 of which are in status expired that were used for the yearly BU of 2015
The yearly job that ran the last week of December however did not re-use the epired tapes, the job just mentions that a tape is full and please insert a valid tape into the library.

I was under the impression that expired tapes were automatically re-used by that media pool if expired. Is this not correct?

Just to be sure - are you talking about GFS media pool or simple one? And the job that didn't re-use expired media was the very same job that wrote those tapes, and media pool was also the same, right? Thanks.

The media pool is a simple one, not GFS
It was indeed the same job tha wrote the expired tapes and the media pool is also the same.

Hi, Dirk. Which version of VBR are you using? In case of using v. 9.0.0.902 where such behaviour may take place after upgrading from v. 8, please, install 9.0 upd2 or 9.5.

Then, please, contact our support team. Expired tapes should be re-used if they are located in the same media pool, the issue shouldn't appear in 9.5 upd2. As a quick workaround just mark tapes as free.
