Mailbox-level restore for a physical Exchange Server

Post by jfarah21 »

Hello!
I am wondering if application-level backup/restore, such as restoring at the mailbox level, is available for PHYSICAL Exchange servers - using either Veeam Endpoint, or if the Agent for Windows will allow for this??

Hi John,

If you backup to a B&R repository (with VEB) it is perfectly possible. From the B&R console, right-click on the backup and choose application level recovery. For VAW, at least the same will be possible, but I don't know if it will be possible if you don't backup to a B&R repository

Thanks
Mike

I can confirm that you can use Endpoint to restore Exchange items, it works perfectly with VEB and VBR 9.

But, since I update my VBR to 9.5, it seems that Application-Item is not detected anymore...

Is anyone can confirm ?

Yes, its supported via file level recovery.
