Dynamics AX 2009: How are you protecting your environment?

Post by lewislampkin »

I'm struggling here on this one.

How do you protect your AX environment?

There has to be some method to the madness.

This is what I want: if someone goofs up, I want to get them back to where they were before they goofed it up.

I don't know how to get there from here.

Anyone running AX who can chime in on this one?

Thanks.

Knowing nothing about Dynamics AX, I am sure you could just boot up your Dynamics AX server in the isolated virtual lab instantly from the latest backup, and restore any items you need. Or, you could let the users themselves connect to it, and fetch any lost data they need... just one of many possible use cases that User-Directed Recovery feature enables.

When the manual is too small, we complain. When the manual is decent, we do not read it. I'm hopeful there' s a manual for this out there. Thanks for such a cordial response, in such an obvious "RTFM/lmgtfy" moment. :D

The world spun around a few times, and I found what I was looking for.
