Copy Job for Agent backups (automatic adding)

Post by ChrisRoad »

We'd like to use a Backup Job withing VBR 9.5 for all Veeam Agent for Linux and Veeam Endpoint backups done by these workstation and servers. (they use the VBR server as repository)

While this works in theory, every new system has to be added manually (also removed in case a computer gets decommissioned) and thus is not really feasible in a dynamic environment.
Is there a way to tell VBR creating this list dynamically?
Like adding new objects not only from Job or Backups, but also from complete repositorys?
That way we could just configure a dedicated repository (what we already do) for all the agent backups and whatever gets stored there, will also trigger a copy into the secondary destination.

The only other method that possibly could work, is to write a script that periodically gets the list of all current backups in the "Agent Backup" repository, and modifies this Copy Job accordingly.

Hi,

I see what you mean. Unfortunately the only way to do so is to write a script, exactly as you've mentioned. The problem will be addressed in the next VBR version.

Thank you for bringing this up!
